Concrete Recycling Plant

Concrete Recycling Plant

A concrete recycling plant is a facility that processes concrete waste materials generated from construction sites, demolition projects, and other sources. The plant's primary function is to crush and screen the waste concrete into various sizes of aggregate for use in new construction projects.

Concrete recycling plants operate by taking in waste concrete materials and processing them into reusable aggregates. The process typically involves the following steps:

Collection: The waste concrete is collected from various sources and transported to the recycling plant.

Crushing: The concrete is crushed into smaller pieces using heavy machinery such as jaw crushers, impact crushers, or cone crushers.

Screening: The crushed concrete is then screened to remove any debris, such as wood or metal, and to separate the aggregate into different sizes.

Cleaning: The screened aggregate is washed to remove any remaining contaminants or cement paste.

Stockpiling: The clean aggregate is stockpiled in designated areas based on its size and quality.

Reuse: The recycled aggregate can then be used in new construction projects, such as roadways, foundations, and building materials.

The UDO concrete recycling plant offers its users cost saving advantages by recycling concrete components and protecting the environment.

-As the concrete recycling plant can be installed next to the concrete mixing plant, the cost of transporting the residual concrete to another location is completely eliminated.

-The recycled aggregates produced by cleaning and decomposing the residual concrete in the cleaning tank can be reused to some extent in concrete production.

The recycled water-cement mixture can be reused in concrete production by using mixers that prevent cement particles from sinking into the water. This also provides significant savings in the concrete production process.

This also provides significant savings in the concrete production process.

What is Concrete Recycling System? How Does it Work?

A concrete recycling system is a process of reusing waste concrete from construction sites, demolition projects, and other sources to create new construction materials. It typically involves using specialized equipment to crush and sort the waste concrete into various sizes of aggregate that can be reused in new construction projects.

The process of a concrete recycling system usually involves the following steps:

Collection and Transport: Waste concrete is collected from construction sites, demolition projects, or other sources and transported to the recycling facility.

Crushing: The waste concrete is crushed into smaller pieces using specialized equipment, such as a jaw crusher or impact crusher.

Screening: The crushed concrete is screened to remove any debris or contaminants, such as wood, metal, or plastic.

Separation: The screened concrete is then separated into different sizes using a screening system, such as a vibrating screen.

Washing and Cleaning: The separated concrete is washed and cleaned to remove any remaining contaminants or cement paste, using water or specialized equipment.

Stockpiling: The cleaned and sorted recycled concrete is stockpiled in designated areas based on its size and quality.

Reuse: The recycled concrete is then used as an aggregate in new construction projects, such as roadways, foundations, and building materials.

The use of a concrete recycling system offers several benefits, including reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills, conserving natural resources, and reducing transportation costs. Additionally, using recycled concrete in new construction projects can also contribute to sustainable building practices by reducing the environmental impact of construction materials.

Additional Features

Magnetic Separators: Magnetic separators are used to remove any steel reinforcement or other metal contaminants from the recycled concrete.

Air Classifiers: Air classifiers can be used to separate the fine and coarse aggregate particles in the recycled concrete to improve the quality of the final product.

Water Treatment Systems: Water treatment systems can be used to treat the water used in the cleaning process to remove any contaminants or pollutants before it is discharged.

Dust Control Systems: Dust control systems can be used to minimize dust emissions during the crushing and screening process.

Automation and Control Systems: Automation and control systems can be used to monitor and control the entire recycling process, ensuring maximum efficiency and quality of the recycled materials.

Concrete Recycling Plant

Today, minimising the environmental impact of the concrete production process has become an important requirement for ready-mixed concrete plants. If the necessary precautions are not taken, the environment will be adversely affected by the increase in concrete production.

Waste concrete discharged into the environment can solidify and the waste water can contaminate underground natural resources, thus endangering the environment and all living organisms. This problem is completely eliminated as the UDO concrete recycling plant recovers most of the waste concrete for reuse. By using the UDO concrete recycling plant, it is possible to recover the waste concrete released from concrete pumps and truck mixers during the cleaning process, as well as the concrete left in the truck mixers at the end of the production day. The waste concrete can be separated into a water-rich cement-cement mixture and coarse aggregates. The recycled material can therefore be reused to a certain extent in subsequent concrete production.

The UDO concrete recycling plant consists of a concrete discharge bin with shower system, a recycling unit for cleaning the waste concrete, a recycling unit for separating the coarse aggregates from the mixture and a waste water drainage tank.

A waste water drainage tank. There is also an agitator to prevent cement particles from sinking into the tank where the reclaimed water is stored.

The tank for storing the waste water can be made of underground concrete, or optionally an underground tank with a capacity of 20 cubic metres can be provided. The system can therefore be installed above ground without the need for any underground foundations.

With the optional mobile concrete pump washing station, the UDO concrete recycling plant can clean both the mixer truck and the mobile concrete pump.

Our concrete pick-up system guarantees perfect sand and aggregate purification with less than 0.5% cement remaining. Sand, aggregate and concrete/water mixture can be reused without any problem.
